Trump Jr. Attacks CNN For Not Airing Racist Ad - CNN Fires Back

The ad appears to be an attempt to tie the caravan of migrants and refugees seeking asylum in the United States to Luis Bracamontes, an undocumented immigrant from Mexico who shot and killed two sheriff's deputies in 2014.

The ad, paid for by Donald J. Trump for President, links an undocumented immigrant convicted of killing two police officers in 2014 to the caravan of migrants fleeing from violence and crime in Central America. The Daily Beast reports the company said in a statement, "This ad violates Facebook's advertising policy against sensational content so we are rejecting it".

"After further review we recognize the insensitive nature of the ad and have made a decision to cease airing it across our properties as soon as possible", said an NBC spokesman, Joe Benarroch.

Fox pulled the ad Sunday "upon further review", said Marianne Gambelli, president of the network's ad sales department. The ad, endorsed by President Donald Trump, was created to fire up fears of a migrant caravan headed toward the United States in advance of Tuesday's midterm elections.

Despite the backlash, the Trump campaign shows no signs of backing down on the ad. Trump's campaign manager, Brad Parscale, unleashed an angry tweet about the ad pull shortly after Fox News, Trump's favorite media outlet, made its announcement, though he did not single out the network.

"After further review we recognize the insensitive nature of the ad and have chose to cease airing it across our properties as soon as possible", a spokesman for NBC said in a statement.

Trump's broader argument in the ad is obvious: we don't know who is coming into our country.

Democratic and Republican administrations alike have deported hundreds of thousands of people a year.

Facebook was the latest to announce the decision. "While the video is allowed to be posted on Facebook, it can not receive paid distribution", a Facebook spokesperson said in a statement.

CNN went so far as to declare "this ad is racist," adding they "declined" to run it when the Trump campaign "presented [them] with an opportunity to be paid to take a version of this ad".
