Google working on fix for Pixel 3 memory management problems

Owners of the Google Pixel 3 and Google Pixel 3 XL have been plagued with a serious problem: memory management.

Have you been affected by these memory management issues on Pixel 3 devices? One of them, related to the camera, already has a fix.

Google also doesn't clarify how it will fix this issue.

Google said Tuesday it rolled out Android Auto in the Philippines, allowing users to call up apps and services while driving. The Android Pie bonus was a little disappointing, but it's improved on the Pixel 3 and 3 XL.

Bugs, bugs, and more bugs.

But even if the 4 GB of RAM in the Pixel 3 and 3 XL are on the low side as far as high-end 2018 phones go, that still isn't normal behavior, especially for apps that should be able to run normally in the background.

XDA Developer reports that developer Arnova8G2 has managed to bring Night Sight mode to the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T, and this software works much better than the default camera app's Nightscape mode as well. Google is reportedly replacing handsets for at least some users but hasn't provided any timeframe for a fix or any details about what the problem might be. Specifically, the hardware is reported to crash any time the camera is instantiated from any application other than the "Camera" application itself, including any app that accesses the hardware rather than the device's gallery functions.
