Red Dead Redemption 2 online beta expected to launch this month

Until then though, fans can still enjoy the singleplayer campaign and fully enjoy what the world has to offer in Red Dead Redemption 2. The most impressive part of it all is the fact that it sold-in more units in its first 8 days out on retail shelves than the original game, Red Dead Redemption, did in its first 8 years on consoles.

After launching the Wild West adventure on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, Rockstar Games saw a massive return after the game began setting records.

Digitally-delivered revenue grew 18 percent to $358.4 million and made up for 73 percent of the total revenue, with the company noting that the split between digital download sales and physical sales are moving faster than initially anticipated. Oh, just the fact that the game has sold boatloads of copies in just eight days.

Take-Two also shared some other interesting figures about Rockstar's latest epic.

"Using the gameplay of the upcoming Red Dead Redemption 2 as a foundation, Red Dead Online will be ready to be explored alone or with friends, and will also feature constant updates and adjustments to grow and evolve this experience for all players", the announcement states. That's what happens when your game is one of the most anticipated, well-reviewed games in a decade.

With the advent of Red Dead Redemption 2's incredibly strong performance out of the gate, Take-Two has increased their financial outlook for the remainder of this fiscal year.
