Fossil's latest Wear OS smartwatch adds longer battery life for $255

With Wear OS receiving a redesign back in September, a few manufacturers have been looking to leverage the OS in new devices.

The company says the 350 mAh unit, with the help of Wear 3100, will be able to eke out a day of life based on the "full smartwatch experience", which we assume includes some HR tracking and Global Positioning System.

Luxury brand Fossil has released a new smartwatch called the Fossil Sport that features Qualcomm's new 3100 wearable processor.

In reality, your strap choices obviously aren't endless, but there are 28 different ones to choose from, as Fossil says that the Sport is compatible with all 18mm watch straps.

And, naturally, the whole show will continue to run on Google's Wear OS platform, which was recently given a makeover in order to improve day-to-day usability. There's NFC for Google Pay, GPS, 5 ATM water resistance, a heart-rate monitor and an altimeter.

Fossil says the watch's 350mAh battery will last upwards of 24 hours on a single charge, and there's even a new battery saver mode that will supposedly eke out two extra days of battery life. This is pretty standard for Fossil smartwatches.

The Fossil Watch becomes officially available on Fossils website starting today, November 8 and will b e available in select Fossil retail stores around the globe on November 12.

I think Fossil is offering a pretty compelling package at this price point, especially considering the hardware and newer chipset.
