Walmart will offer Black Friday deals earlier this year

The retailer has also introduced 18 Black Friday deals that are available starting today online.

"Some of the deals Walmart is already touting include the 65" Class 4K Roku (ROKU) Smart TV for $398 and the Hisense 40" Class 1080p TV for $99. The leaked $199 Sony PS4 Slim 1TB Spider-man Bundle is also on the cover.

Black Friday, viewed as the "Super Bowl of retail", will start online at 10 p.m. ET on Wednesday, two hours earlier than previous years. Once the party ends, in-store events get underway with new tools to make it easier to shop.

Retailers like Walmart are going all-out this year because more may be at stake.

The company prides itself on having the lowest prices, and when it comes to Black Friday laptop sales, it's the early leader, with a pair of notebooks selling for under $100. Some estimates suggest spending could reach $1 trillion for the first time.

On Thursday, Walmart published its 2018 Black Friday ad, which is full of fantastic tech deals, including DVDs for less than $2, Blu-ray players and video projectors for under $50, a 40-inch TV for under $100, and more. It also promises the lowest price on popular video games such as Madden 19, Destiny 2, National Basketball Association 2K19, and FIFA 19.

The move gives shoppers on the East Coast more shopping time earlier, executives said, and at 6 p.m. local time in its stores on Thanksgiving Day, according to Reuters. Then doors reopen at 7 a.m. on Friday, November 23.
