76ers Acquire Jimmy Butler From Wolves For Robert Covington, Dario Saric

The Athletic has reported that the terms of the deal are Butler and Patton heading from Minnesota to Philadelphia for Robert Covington, Dario Saric, Jerryd Bayless, and a 2022 second round draft pick.

At the time of identifying his preferred trade destinations, Butler reportedly did not include the Lakers on the list.

Charania is reporting that the Sixers and Timberwolves will have a trade call on Monday to finalize the deal.

In addition to the deal, the reports claims that Philadelphia and Butler expect to reach a deal on a long-team contract this summer. After weeks upon weeks of one of the weirdest trade sagas in recent National Basketball Association memory, the Minnesota Timberwolves made a decision to send Butler back to the Eastern Conference.

Butler played 41 minutes for the Timberwolves on Friday night in a loss to Sacramento.

Already one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference, the 76ers finally have a capable wing scorer to pair with star point guard Ben Simmons and center Joel Embiid. Though, there were mixed reports on whether Butler is receptive to playing alongside James.

Still, while both of them are solid players, neither of them are Butler, a game-changing wing who is capable of taking over on both ends of the floor.
