Dez Bryant Fears Torn Achilles After Injury at Saints Practice

The Cowboys cut ties with Dez during this past off-season - and while he reportedly got offers from at least one National Football League team, Dez didn't sign until the Saints came calling because he thought they were the right fit.

Dez Bryant suffered an injury during practice Friday afternoon according to NFL Network and reporter Tom Pelissero.

The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the team has not announced any details of Bryant's medical exam. The injury came just days after Bryant signed a one-year contract with New Orleans worth up to $1.1 million.

That said, Payton said he hasn't seen Bryant practice yet and "we'll see" if Bryant plays this weekend after that changes.

A three-time Pro Bowl selection, Bryant was the 24th pick in the 2010 draft, chalking up 7,459 receiving yards and 73 touchdowns in eight seasons, all with Dallas.

The Saints signing Bryant meant he was likely to play against his former team on November 29. Meredith was scheduled to have an arthroscopic cleanup performed on the same knee that required reconstructive surgery in 2017 and sidelined him all of that season.
