Trump wishes Ruth Bader Ginsburg well, brings up her 2016 comments

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has been released from the hospital days after a nasty fall left her with three fractured ribs.

According to the court, Ginsburg experienced discomfort after going home following the fall and was admitted to George Washington University Thursday morning for observation and treatment.

Court spokeswoman Kathleen Arberg said Ginsburg, 85, is "doing well and plans to work from home today".

The justice's nephew Daniel Stiepleman told Reuters Thursday night at the premiere of "On the Basis of Sex", a movie about Justice Ginsburg's early career, his aunt was "doing great". "I can't promise they were good jokes but they were jokes". She also had two bouts with cancer and had a stent implanted to open a blocked artery in 2014. She said something very inappropriate during the campaign but she apologized for it. "For the court, it could be - I don't even want to contemplate that".

In 2012, she fell and broke two ribs, and in 2009 she was hospitalized after a negative reaction to medication. Given the sensitivity of the rib area, he said, they will likely take it easy for a while, "and then we'll pick back up just like we usually do".

Ginsburg, who is Jewish, leads the court's liberal wing.
