Kardashians Evacuate Calabasas Amid California Wildfires: 'Pray Everyone Is Safe'

Kim Kardashian, Lady Gaga and Cher were among thousands fleeing their homes on Friday as a fast-moving wildfire engulfed Malibu and nearby celebrity neighborhoods.

"Pray for Calabasas", Kardashian West wrote on an Instagram story.

The reality star first posted a video of the burning hillsides captured from the window of a plane on her Instagram story, followed by a short note to followers revealing that she had just one hour to pack her belongings and evacuate. She posted a pic of her vehicle trunk showing packed bags, writing, "I pray that everyone is kept safe and protected from these fires".

Later Friday, TMZ reported that flames had reached the property where the home sits. That fire is burning almost 10,000 acres and situated only a few miles from the Woolsey fire near the border of Los Angeles and Ventura counties, as reported by ABC 7.

She said, "Pray for Calabasas. Pray everyone is safe".

Dozens of performers have homes in the coastal city of Malibu and the ritzy enclave of Calabasas, parts of which are under evacuation orders because of the Woolsey Fire in Ventura and Los Angeles counties.


All of Malibu has been ordered to evacuate, which is home to numerous celebrities and Hollywood executives.

Wildfires have started spreading throughout Northern and Southern California yesterday.

Their sister Khloe Kardashian also commented on the events, sharing, "I cannot sleep!" Saying prayers and thanking all of the fearless firefighters who risk their lives for us, ' Khloe said in tweet on early Friday morning.

Creator and director Derek Waters was forced to call time on the shoot there when the fires got too close.

"Beverly Hills, 90210" star Doherty said her "heart is ripped apart" by the loss of a Malibu home where she and husband Kurt Iswarienko were married in 2011, posting on Instagram a wedding-day photo of the smiling couple on a tree-lined path at the property apparently owned by a friend.

"Bleak House and the collection may be endangered but the gift of life remains", tweeted del Toro, director of Oscar best picture victor The Shape of Water. Milano said that she grabbed her kids, dogs and Dr. Martens boots while leaving several concerned tweets about the fate of her five horses.
