The current run time for Avengers 4 is three hours long

While participating in an Instagram Q&A session, Joe Russo, the co-director of Marvel's highly anticipated and still-untitled "Avengers 4" film, revealed a bit of what to expect from the follow-up to "Infinity War". "We'll see if that holds".

Infinity War, which was released earlier this year, was the previous holder of the longest MCU film at 2 hours and 29 minutes.

When asked if the movie was already in the post-production stage, Russo answered that the movie's team was halfway through the editing process, and were "scratching the surface on our VFX (visual effects) shots".

With the first trailer for Avengers: Infinity War coming out in late November previous year, many had wondered if its sequel would follow a similar timeline. If the duration stays the same, Avengers 4 would become Marvel's longest movie to date. "Those require a lot of time and thought and energy and effort, and we're very early in the phase of getting VFX done", he added. "We've just started work with Alan Silvestri on the score, and we're still editing picture at this point". The Hollywood Reporter recently spoke to Russo via live-stream, pressing him for details and updates on the film, those of which he isn't sworn to protect.

Make sure you stock up on some adult diapers if you plan to watch Avengers 4 in May 2019. "Without question." That's quite a statement given that the stakes in "Infinity War" were the death of half of all life in the universe.
