Official reports say a total of 228 people are still missing as a result of the horrific wildfires. Two people were also killed as a result of separate fires in Southern California.

NASA has been tracking California's late-season wildfires with its Earth-watching Landsat 8 and Terra satellites since the Camp Fire began on Thursday (Nov. 8). Statewide, the twin fires in northern and southern California have killed almost 30 people and forced 300,000 residents from their homes.

Actress Camille Grammer Meyer, who stars in The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, was another celebrity who lost her home to the fire. "It's the event that we have feared for a long time". Authorities have not released the names of victims and have continued to search for more.

In Northern California, Butte County Sheriff Kory Honea said the county consulted anthropologists from California State University at Chico because, in some cases, investigators have been able to recover only bones and bone fragments.

"There is no reason for these massive, deadly and costly forest fires in California except that forest management is so poor".

Continuing, Rice explained that Trump's "assertion that California's forest management policies are to blame for catastrophic wildfire is dangerously wrong".

In a statement, the union for firefighters said as wildfires threaten lives and homes "Trump has chosen to respond with an irresponsible, reckless and insulting tweet criticizing the work being done on the frontline to contain these disasters".

A woman who waited to put her make-up on and a disabled man are among the 25 people who have died in California's wildfires.

In fire zones north and south, acrid smoke blanketed the sky.

The city's population of 12,000 was evacuated on Friday as the Woolsey fire exploded overnight, reported Reuters.

The flames raced from the Conejo Valley to the Pacific Ocean, across Highway 101 and the Santa Monica mountains, at speeds that shocked veteran fire officials.

Musician Robin Thicke's Malibu home burned entirely, his representative said.

Firefighters used a respite from strong winds on Saturday to drop fire retardants to strengthen fire lines.

The Camp Fire has ripped through 164 square miles, destroying more than 6,700 buildings, a lot of them family homes.

The president pointed out that the fires were expanding very quickly.

She became emotional, looking at a canyon where her children had once played, now blackened by fire.

"Winds are already blowing". "But there's nothing left to burn".

Fire officials warned that the winds would be back on Sunday morning, and they were right. Stay away. It's not safe. "Hopefully they weren't home".

Sir Rod Stewart has taken to Twitter to blast Donald Trump over his "accusatory" tweet about the Californian wildfires.

At the southern end of the state, where the "Woolsey Fire" is threatening mansions and mobile homes alike in the coastal celebrity redoubt of Malibu, the death toll has been limited to two victims found in a vehicle on a private driveway. "Unfortunately, the best science is telling us that dryness, warmth, drought, all those things, they're going to intensify", Brown said.
