'Pokémon: Detective Pikachu' Trailer Gets Plenty Of Reactions

With Ryan Reynolds now voicing the electric rodent in Warner Brother's upcoming Detective Pikachu film, fans have begun splicing in DeVito's dialogue into the trailer.

The first trailer for Detective Pikachu dropped on Monday, teasing the mystery movie that's based off the video game of the same name. Starring alongside Ryan Reynolds will be Justice Smith (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom) as Tim, Kathryn Newton (Lady Bird, HBO's Big Little Lies) as a junior reporter named Lucy, and Oscar nominee Ken Watanabe (Inception, The Last Samurai) as Lt. Yoshida. "Just didn't think it would be this soon", Reynolds posted on social media. This looks about as totally insane as it sounds, and it's not surprising they made a Pokemon movie this fast thanks to that popularity of the mobile game. Throughout the trailer, which you can see below, you'll spot the likes of Charizard, Mr. Mime, Jigglypuff, Psyduck, and many more. He teams up with the fuzzy yellow Pokemon, a "hilariously wise-cracking, adorable super-sleuth", for the investigation.

Detective Pikachu zaps into theaters in 2019. The two embark on a wild adventure through the neon-lit streets of Ryme City-a sprawling, modern metropolis where humans and Pokémon live side by side in a hyper-realistic live-action world.
