Dog Waits 80 Days For Owner Killed in a Crash

Dog Waits 80 Days For Owner Killed in a Crash

The state-owned China News Agency reported the dog in the city of Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, had been sitting by the guard rail in the middle of the road for nearly three months.

China's Pear Video website said the dog has been seen in the road every day since its owner died on 21 August.

When a video of the loyal canine waiting for its owner went viral all over the internet last Saturday (10 November 2018), many netizens pitied it and hoped that the family members of the dog's owner will take care of it.

When the person filming approaches the dog, as if to help, it runs away before returning back to the original spot.

However, it would always return to the spot later. Besides that, some animal lovers have reportedly left some food near the railing for the dog.

One netizen wrote: "The weather is getting colder, and waiting in the middle of the road is not sustainable in the long run".

Though his owner passed away 80 days ago, the dog hopes to meet her at the very spot someday.

Try not to worry too much, though, as according to local reports, charity Blue Hada is on the case and is now reaching out to the late owner's family.

'It's so unsafe for the dog to be lingering on the road, ' one user said. The loyal dog died a decade later on a street in the Shibuya area, where his owner once lived.

In 2015, a miniature schnauzer in Iowa walked 20 blocks to a hospital to find its owner, who was hospitalised for two weeks after surgery.

Other social media users were quick to compare the pet to Japan's famous Hachiko, the Akita dog that waited for its dead owner for more than nine years outside a train station in 1920s Tokyo. Security footage captured the dog wandering around the hospital.
