'Sex And The City 3' Reportedly Planned To Kill Off Big-Time Character

Journalist James Andrew Miller spoke about the series on a podcast, Origins, concluding with the final movie plot. While some were all too keen to see what the fabulous friends were up to all these years later, many were extremely nervy about damaging the legacy any further with shitty storylines à la the second film and the prequel spinoff series The Carrie Diaries.

"People close to Kim [Cattrall] believe that the script didn't have a lot to offer the character of Samantha", Miller shared. They point to the fact that it calls for Mr. "Big to die of a heart attack-in the shower-relatively early on in the film, making the remainder of the movie more about how Carrie recovers from Big's death than about the relationship between the four women".

And the reporter revealed that Carrie's husband John James Preston, or Mr Big, was killed off in the proposed script for a third one.

And it turns out this all could have been avoided if the writers chose to keep Mr Big alive. However, he did acquiesce that he had "heard [the third film] had. a superior script".

Sex and the City had six superb seasons on HBO, one utterly enjoyable film installment and one film that was. well, let's just not talk about it. Right now, he's talking all things SATC with the show's cast, crew, and creators including Sarah Jessica Parker, Chris Noth, Kristin Davis, and Willie Garson.

"I really hate corny stuff", Noth said. Not just for the character of Carrie, but for the audience, this really would have been ripping the rug out.

Cattrall allegedly claimed that she was "everyone's favorite", King said, and wanted a salary as high as Parker's. The two feuded via social media earlier this year, with Cattrall even alleging that she and the main female cast members, which also include Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon, were never close.

King also criticised Cattrall for concocting a "revisionist history" of her time working on the show.

Noth is seemingly still on good terms with Parker, leaving a cheeky comment on her Instagram this week. "I've never publicly - ever - said anything unfriendly, unappreciative about Kim because that's not how I feel about her". And according to SJP, Cattrall had an issue with back-end compensation matters as well.

"We negotiated in good faith", Parker told Miller about the claims of "unequal and unfair" pay. You're an integral part, of course you are.

If you ask us, it actually sounds like a sweet, emotional journey of friendship. "Hated the thing at the end of the movie after I felt she deceived me and then I say, 'Well, it's time I give you a bigger diamond ring.' Hated it". "So then it's over, but that's not a character assassination, that's just the way business works".
