Glamorous Amal Clooney shines in stunning silk gown at awards ceremony

Amal Clooney made it clear that she's not a fan of President Donald Trump during her speech at the United Nations Correspondents Association Awards on Wednesday night.

According to The Huffington Post, in her speech Clooney shared numerous tales of journalists who have come under attack in recent years. She then brought up Trump, accusing him of emboldening others to attack the press.

Clooney was quick to point out the regimes that target journalists and pose the most threat to them, notably Brazil, Hungary, Turkey, North Korea, and the Philippines.

She referred to the "brutal torture and death" two month ago of a Washington Post journalist, Jamal Khashoggi.

"You are being jailed at a higher rate than ever", she continued. George stood by her side with style, as he's known to do, but for an evening as momentous as this one, the duo snuck in a couple extra plus-ones: Nick Clooney and Nina Warren - as in, George's parents. She claimed in 2016 that some of his comments "that there should be a religious test imposed on entering the US or the fact that there should be state-sponsored torture or that families of suspected terrorists should all be killed - all of those things are violations of global human rights law and the values that underlie that".
