Reality Star Jael Strauss Dead at 34

"America's Next Top Model" alum Jael Strauss has passed away after battling stage 4 breast cancer.

Strauss, who placed sixth on season 8 of the reality show, took to Facebook in early October to announce that she had Stage IV rapidly progressive metastatic inflammatory breast cancer.

She continued, "It has aggressively spread throughout my body and is incurable".

After receiving treatment for her addiction and getting clean, the model said she was "the happiest I've ever been in my entire life". "I don't want to die", she added. "I need another one of those miracles that I got back in 2013".

In 2012, the TV star appeared on Dr Phil at the desperate request of her brother Brandon and mother Debbie, who wanted to help her turn her life around.

Strauss had struggled with drug addiction but celebrated five years of sobriety in August 2018.

Jael had reportedly been unconscious for a few days prior to her passing, and her family had stopped allowing visitors.

She wrote: "First night in hospice". I wish I could of seen her once more.

During her time on America's Next Top Model, Strauss received particular praise for her photos, namely a shoot which saw her posing as a murder victim shortly after she received news that a close friend had died from a drug overdose. She loved donning various wigs.

Strauss announced her cancer diagnosis in a Facebook post on October 4. We don't know for what reasons, but man was she one of the strongest I knew.

"I was gonna write some long thing but some of you guys deserve to know". "We are never too broken to be put back together". I feel better, but nowhere near how it used to be.

Taking to Instagram to share the milestone, she wrote: "Today I have 5 years sober". "I'd be dead if it weren't for all the love and forgiveness I've been showered with by my friends and my family".

According to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, breast cancer will affect at least one in nine Canadian women.

She was just 22-years-old at the time that she was thrust into the spotlight. Thank you to my partner Cody Bear for showing me what real love is like. Thank you to all my lovely family (blood and extended).
