Bill Cosby Blamed For "Baby It's Cold Outside" Radio Ban

Bill Cosby Blamed For

"Bill Cosby ruined it for everybody", she told NBC News.

A Madison radio station has pulled a now-controversial seasonal song from its airwaves, a station leader said.

The famous song, written in 1944, takes the form of a duet, with a man trying to convince a protesting woman to stay over because it's "cold outside".

Gayle King got so fired up over criticism of "Baby, It's Cold Outside", she accidentally swore on the air on Thursday.

Susan went as far to blame Bill Cosby for music listeners getting so politically correct that a Cleveland radio station pulled the song from its rotation of Christmas music.

Rather than just relegating her comment to the recesses of my mind while driving, I consciously started listening to it more intensely - and came to the realization that the lyrics were, in fact, those of a date rape song. Other lyrics like "say, what's in this drink?" have also raised eyebrows.

"Please count me in the 90 percent", King said after the segment.

'Back then it didn't mean you drugged me, ' she added. "I think my father would be furious at that", she told NBC News.

Loesser said she was upset about the furore because "it's a song my father wrote for him and my mother to sing at parties".

'It was written in 1944.

Loesser did say she understands why the song has taken on its current connotation in the post-Weinstein era, noting, "Absolutely I get it". It was a different time'. "But ever since Cosby was accused of drugging women, I hear the date rape thing all the time".

Frank Loesser, the song's writer, wouldn't be happy about the ban.
