Solas Returns in the Next Dragon Age

Solas Returns in the Next Dragon Age

There were rumours earlier this week that a new Dragon Age would be announced this week but that it would be at least three years away. The short teaser doesn't show much, a few figures dissolving into ash, and a painting showing a familiar figure staring down the silhouette of a big black dragon. As you might guess if you saw Dragon Age: Inquisition through to the end, a lot revolves around the one-time companion character our former Adam (RPS in peace) described as "like an egg with a face painted on". I'm sure there are plenty of hints that a lapsed DA player like myself glossed over. Although the game sold roughly the same number of copies in the its predecessor, Electronic Arts confirmed in 2015 that the game is the most successful launch in BioWare history based on unit sales.

No details were provided in the announcement, besides the fact that a new Dragon Age game is now being actively developed.

The next Dragon Age did indeed put in an appearance at The Game Awards 2018, but don't get too excited just yet - all we got was a very brief teaser trailer accompanied by the hashtag #TheDreadWolfRises. He said BioWare won't share more details now, but he did confirm the game is being made by some "core" Dragon Age veterans who also worked on Jade Empire and Baldur's Gate.

We've gathered our strongest team yet and are venturing forth on the most epic quest ever!
