'Not for sale' - No go for Marko say Hammers

The offer is reported to include astronomical wages that would be very hard for the player to turn down.

West Ham reportedly have Bournemouth's Callum Wilson on their radar and he could become a priority if they lose Marko Arnautovic. "He took every award at the club; best player, signing of the season and the players' award", added Danijel Arnautovic.

Real Betis are keen to snap the striker, but West Ham are eager to ensure that they are not left short of options in the final third.

West Ham are now operating without creative playmakers Manuel Lanzini, Jack Wilshere and Andriy Yarmolenko due to injury, and although Samir Nasri has come in to help in their absence, the Chilean is looking for further signings, not just to add quality to his ranks, but also depth too.

But West Ham could enter the race to bring in Wilson as their replacement for star man Arnautovic. It is close to double what they paid for him.

Pellegrini underlined his determination to keep Arnautovic before West Ham's meeting with Arsenal on Saturday, with the club later issuing a statement which read: "Marko has a contract and we fully expect him to honour it".

Manager Manuel Pellegrini said at his Thursday media conference: "We know that we have in Marko a very good player, so maybe a lot of clubs may want him to play for their team, but he's a player of West Ham". At the moment it's all so slow and predictable and the whole game is being played in a 30-yard space. I don't think they will go.

West Ham's board are not known for releasing the grip on the purse strings too regularly, and given the large outlay prior to the season beginning, the former Manchester City boss may need to deal in free transfers, or use the loan market if he is to make the sufficient additions to his playing personnel this month.

"His agent has been making noises about him leaving as well and Chelsea could probably get him for £40m because of his age".
