Lana Del Rey releases haunting new single

Lana Del Rey releases haunting new single

After posting a special teaser to her Instagram last week, Lana Del Rey has officially come back with brand new music. Her new single,"Hope is a risky thing for a woman like me to have - but I have it" is as lyrically dense as the long-winded title suggests, beautifully following Del Rey through a consideration of fame, family, and womanhood.

The track is out now on all major platforms, and follows last year's "Venice Bitch" and lead single "Mariners Apartment Complex".

The lyrics reference the late poet Sylvia Plath. "Don't ask if I'm happy, you know that I'm not / But at best I can say I'm not sad".

"Working with Jack, I was in a little bit of a lighter mood because he was so amusing", she told Zane Lowe of Apple Music's Beats 1 (via Variety), when she revealed the album title back in September.

Hope is unsafe thing for a woman like me to have - but i have it is an emotional ballad.

The "Young and Beautiful" singer's sixth studio album, titled Norman F**king Rockwell, is due for release in mid-2019, with the first single said to be forthcoming.

"I literally might just drop these little books off at some bookstores in Silverlake and beg them to sell them". It's been really cool for me "cause I was having a little bit of writers" block with the music last Fall and so I just sat down to write some words without music and I realised there was just a couple of things I wanted to say through some poems, which is amusing. "So I mean, what I'd like to do is sort of self-publish but I'm not very good at the distribution side of things".
