R. Kelly facing criminal investigations after Lifetime documentary exposes abuse allegations

Savage claims his daughter is being held against her will by R. Kelly and Mason threatened him for speaking out about it.

Kelly's award winning career has been shadowed by sexual misconduct allegations for more than two decades. Through interviews with family members and former members of the Kelly's inner circle, the report alleged that the singer kept at least six women in a "cult" across his properties in Chicago and Atlanta.

After each episode finishes, viewers with the relevant subscriptions will then be able to watch the R Kelly documentary on demand, again via Sky Go. Despite years of petitions and calls for Kelly's longtime label home, RCA Records, to part ways with the singer, he remained on the company's roster at press time.

Her father says they haven't heard from her in about two years.

To start, Dash revealed that he'd viewed some of Surviving R. Kelly on TV - "as much as [he] could tolerate". A Henry County police report states Timothy Savage told an officer on January 3 that R. Kelly's manager Don Russell had texted him saying it would be best for him and his family if the documentary didn't air.

Foxx said that after watching the series herself, "I was sickened by the allegations". The case stems from a year ago, when an anonymous woman claimed Kelly gave her an STI and held her captive as a sex slave in 2017. We're told investigators were flooded with calls once the docuseries aired. "No one has ever seen any evidence of it". She said anyone who thinks they may have been a victim to call the Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Division at 773-674-6492. "What I am hearing about the allegations against R. Kelly is absolutely horrifying and indefensible".

Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx is asking anyone with information to come forward.

The case was presented to a Magistrate Judge who issued a warrant in July, citing "terroristic threats and acts".

But if a number of alleged victims come forward amid the furor from the "Surviving R. Kelly" documentary series, it may also be helpful for Kelly should he face any new charges, said Chicago defense lawyer Joseph Lopez.

Surviving R Kelly will air in the United Kingdom on Crime & Investigation on Tuesday, February 5, at 10pm.
