Gary Kubiak Wont Become Offensive Coordinator Of Broncos

According to a report from NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, the Broncos have notified the Pittsburgh Steelers of their intention to speak with Munchak, whose contract as its offensive line coach is up, about a position on Denver's coaching staff.

Shortly before his news conference to introduce himself as the Broncos' new head coach, Vic Fangio met with Gary Kubiak about a possibility. ESPN's Adam Schefter said there were lengthy discussions between Denver management and Kubiak, and the two sides had different ideas on staffing and offensive philosophy. Kubiak was considered a top candidate for the job, but the Falcons hired Dirk Koetter on Tuesday.

It turns out, though, Kubiak will not be joining Fangio's staff. Dennison was the offensive coordinator and Pariani the tight ends coach in 2015-16.

Many thought Kubiak would have done wonders for Broncos quarterback Case Keenum, who posted mediocre numbers in first year in Denver, as well as explosive undrafted rookie running back Phillip Lindsay, who made the Pro Bowl in 2018. At the time, Schefter reported that the Broncos wanted Kubiak to work with their next coach and that Kubiak wanted to remain in Denver.
