Jo Andres, Wife of Actor Steve Buscemi, Dead at 65

Emmy Award-winning actor Steve Buscemi's wife Jo Andres has died at the age of 65.

Jo Andres, who was aged in her mid-60s, and Fargo star Buscemi had been married for 31 years and had a son, Lucian, in 1990. Her cause of death has not yet been disclosed, reports E! The film served as a precursor to her own directorial debut, 1996's Black Kites, which starred their son Lucian, aired on PBS, and made the rounds at several film festivals, including Sundance, Berlin, Toronto, London and Human Rights Watch Film Festivals.

According to RadarOnline, Buscemi was 'was spotted lifting a wicker casket out of the house, ' before heading to a funeral service with a police escort.

Buscemi previously heaped praise on his wife's work, revealing his favourite piece of art was "probably something by my wife Jo Andres".

Andres was known for her film/dance/light experimental performance art in the 1980s and also directed music and art videos. Guests reportedly included his "Big Lebowski" co-star John Turturro.

The loved up pair were last seen together at The Cinema Society screening of Puzzle in NY, just seven months ago in July.

"She paints, she makes films, she has done performance", he told the Independent.

The 65-year-old became an artist back in 1980 and has since went on to be a filmmaker, choreographer and performer.

The family has not yet released a statement on Andres passing, but they are not the only family of artists reeling from the loss of a matriarch.
