What's clear is that, barring a setback in the next two weeks, Cousins is expected to be on the court well before the February All-Star break, as some have speculated.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr spoke with reporters on Tuesday and said Cousins was getting closer to a return.

DeMarcus "Boogie" Cousins, according to Shams Charania, will shoot to make his Warriors debut and also appear in his first National Basketball Association game after a 12 month-long return from an Achilles injury. Cousins' presence is especially significant considering that Jones suffered what probably is a season-ending pectoral injury during a loss at the Detroit Pistons on December 1.

And it's not fair to expect DeMarcus Cousins to come in and save the day for the Warriors. He added that the team would be working on integrating Cousins into the offense.

If that date holds up, Cousins will play for the first time this season against the Los Angeles Clippers. At a time when Golden State could offer virtually no money, Cousins still sought the champions, understanding they were his best shot at success.

Chandler ultimately signed a one-year, veteran's minimum deal with Los Angeles because he "could only see himself in a Laker uniform". The Warriors have players with huge personalities like Kevin Durant and Draymond Green who ironically got into a dispute with one another during a heated moment earlier this season.

Cousins has not played a game since exiting the court with a torn Achilles' wearing a New Orleans Pelicans jersey on January 26, 2018. They'll enter that matchup with a 26-14 record.
