Icardi Bashes Media Over Inter Contract Reports

Icardi Bashes Media Over Inter Contract Reports

Mauro Icardi's future remains uncertain at Inter Milan after contract negotiations have stalled.

Earlier on Wednesday, Argentinean broadcaster TyC Sports reported that Icardi will not renew his deal with Inter, which runs until 2021.

Icardi's terms do not expire until 2021 but the Inter star has been linked with a move to Real Madrid and Manchester United after his agent and wife Wanda Nara reiterated the Argentina global is nowhere near a renewal.

Inter are keen to remove the release clause from Icardi's contract in order to tie him to the club for another year.

"Icardi's renewal with Inter is a very long way off as things stand today", Nara told AS.

"We're far from reaching an agreement". "There are very important clubs that are interested in signing Mauro and we are very far from reaching an agreement [with Inter]". It's not logical to renew Mauro's contract for the amount he now earns. The figures that are being talked about in Italy about his contract renewal are not accurate.

"We believe Mauro is worth more than that".

Nara has hinted the west Londoners are interested in signing Inter's talisman and that he's also on Barcelona and Real Madrid's radars.

The Inter captain has interest from clubs outside of the country, according to his wife, who happens to be his agent.

Los Blancos have been reportedly searching for a new player to fill the void that Cristiano Ronaldo left.

When it comes to the English team that Nara mentioned, Chelsea have been linked with the Inter Milan ace in the past.

Although it appears that AC Milan's Higuain has emerged as Sarri's number one target, Icardi, who plays for Milan's rivals Inter, could be an easier player to land.
