HBO reveals ‘Game of Thrones’ season eight premiere date with new teaser

A variety of tidbits have been revealed, including that there will be six super-sized episodes, perhaps as long as movies.

It's safe to say that the final season of Game of Thrones has a lot to deliver and not a lot of time to do it, so let the countdown to the premiere begin!

The network also released a new teaser in which Arya Stark, Jon Snow and Sansa Stark can be seen facing an unknown icy threat at the family crypt in Winterfell. The piece was shot in the crypts at Winterfell.

As far as predictions for the series return date, fans were bang on when they guessed April 14 based on the knowledge that each series has typically started 231 days after HBO drops the first official footage of the series.

HBO has finally announced the premiere date for the final season of Game of Thrones. The latter two had a terse - but ultimately satisfying - reunion in season 7, but Arya and Jon haven't seen each other since the second episode of the whole show.

And finally there are the words from Ned himself as he reminds Jon that Stark blood runs through his veins even if he doesn't carry the family name. Ned Stark's voice echoes, "You are a Stark. Might not have my name, but you have my blood". From April 14 onwards, the Game of Thrones fandom shall take the final journey of six episodes together.

At the end of the clip, Sansa Stark, Area Stark, and Jon Snow all converge at the end of the tomb, where they come face to face with statues of themselves.

When we last visited Westeros, it was in a precarious position as the Night King's wight army destroyed the Wall (with their very own undead dragon) and marched freely into Westeros.
