New England Patriots beat LA Chargers to reach AFC Championship game

Two high-profile rematches with the Super Bowl on the line. They'll face the top-seeded Kansas City Chiefs, who haven't been to the Super Bowl since Len Dawson led them to Super Bowl IV.

The Rams, meanwhile, simply ran over the Dallas Cowboys to make the title game with a franchise playoff record 273 rushing yards in Saturday's 30-22 divisional win in Los Angeles. Not too long ago here, it wasn't too tough a place to play when we were struggling. "We'll see where we are now, see where they are".

Running back Sony Michel delivered a standout performance with three touchdowns as quarterback Tom Brady passed for 343 yards. Brady's Patriots have already humiliated the Falcons on the game's biggest stage once, and winning it again on their home field would leave a bitter taste, even if it happens to come against New Orleans.

"It was a good win", Brady, 41, said.

Last week, rumors swirled about New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton pulling the biggest of big d-k moves to motivate him players to get them to play like champs and get a sh-tload of cash in the process. On Nov. 4, the Saints charged out to a 35-14 lead in the first half.

Early touchdowns established a 35-7 half-time lead at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, where the Patriots finished with a flawless 9-0 home record this season.

It's the first time in the Super Bowl era that the NFL's top four scoring offenses all reached the conference championships.

With three minutes to go and the Saints up 20-14 the Eagles had one last chance to march up the field under Foles and take the game.

The Patriots scored on their first four possessions on their way to a 35-7 halftime lead.

Saints quarterback Drew Brees took control of the game, leading to 20 unanswered points. "It shows that we had a good week of practice, executed well in practice and it carried over and went into the game". New England is 19-3 at home in the playoffs under Bill Belichick while the Chargers haven't made it past the Divisional Round since the 2007 season.

In the divisional round of the National Football League playoffs, the best teams took over.
