Ocasio-Cortez criticized after failing to provide workers’ compensation coverage

Strikingly, the scene from the comic book series from which the quote is taken occurs in a prison cafeteria-a potentially provocative, though perhaps fluid, metaphor for what Congress has become to many lawmakers.

They point to her hiring of two former organizers from the progressive group Justice Democrats, which helped get her elected, and a November conference call in which she urged, "all Americans know money in politics is a huge problem, but unfortunately the way that we fix it is by demanding that our incumbents give it up or by running fierce campaigns ourselves".

And she is expected to loudly advocate for Democratic primary campaigns against some of the middle-of-the-road members of her own party in Congress. "She doesn't understand how the place works yet".

The campaign of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., was fined by the state of NY for failing to provide compensation coverage for its staffers. The former bartender, who joined a climate-change protest in Speaker Nancy Pelosi's office during her freshman congressional orientation, also demanded the creation of a specific committee to further the implementation of a so-called "green new deal", but was refused that as well.

Similarly, Ocasio-Cortez, is pushing for a "Medicare for All" medical insurance overhaul in the USA, an ambitious plan that would put much of the industry in the hands of government.

AOC knows that - hell, she represents that - and judging by Joe's inane comments to somebody as far right wing as Cavuto... we think Joe may have an idea that his time has always been up, too. Instead she shot back, tweeting, "New party, who dis?"

By Friday morning, Lieberman began trending on Twitter as others felt similarly.

Lieberman pointed to the many moderate Democrats who beat Republicans in purple districts in 2018.

One day, all of these rightwing pundits and centrist politicians are going to look up and shout, "save us", and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez will look down and whisper "no".
