Reports of active shooter at New Jersey UPS facility

Police officers responded to an active shooter situation at a UPS facility in South Jersey after receiving reports of shots being fired.

Police first received calls at about 8:45 a.m. for an incident at UPS Mail Innovations facility, located on the 200th block of Birch Creek Road, Logan Township police said.

Police were seen ducking behind vehicles outside a loading ramp at the sprawling complex. From the footage, it appears at least 20 members of law enforcement were on the scene.

In a statement, UPS says it's working with law enforcement on an active shooter situation, but did not provide details or identify if any employees were involved.

A spokesman for the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office told NJ.com "the situation is contained". "We can not provide information about the identity of people involved at this time", the company said in a statement to Fox News. Gilbert said law enforcement was now in "fact-gathering" mode.

A gunman has taken his ex-girlfriend and another person hostage at a New Jersey UPS facility Monday morning.

The Logan Township School District has placed all schools on lockdown following police reports as a precaution.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
