Freezing drizzle advisory in the GTA ahead of a warm-up

"After getting up to 0.4" of ice late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, another round of freezing rain is expected over our central and northern counties. "The freezing rain could persist for much of the day before changing to freezing drizzle this evening". Experts say to drive slower if you experience slick road conditions.

Although several school buses were cancelled in the Kingston region on Wednesday morning, several school boards in the area asked parents to come pick up their children due to the possibility of freezing rain.

"Our biggest concern is icing into and during the Thursday AM commute", the service said.

Salters were on standby at locations across the city beginning at 4 a.m. and have been busy throughout the day. High minus 3. Wind chill minus 20 in the morning and minus 5 in the afternoon.

Depending on the placement of the 32 degrees freezing line overnight that will continue to determine what areas see freezing rain/drizzle to the north and west of it versus the areas that will see just cold rain/drizzle which will be more likely in the east viewing areas.

It's not snow, but it's going to wreak havoc on the roads Wednesday. "Although it looks like Mother Nature may have the upper hand sometimes we will get these roads in good shape". "It started out with ice pellets, that turned to snow and then we saw some rain and now a little bit of freezing rain", he said.
