PDP dares APC govt, vows to still hold presidential rally in Abuja

The party therefore, could not go on with its campaign in Abuja, as planned.

NAN reports that Buhari, the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the February 16, Presidential Election, is coming to Lagos, the nation's commercial capital, to campaign for his re-election.

The director, Media & Publicity of the Campaign Organisation, Kola Ologbondiyan, who displayed proof of payment to the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) for use of the venue, earlier billed for yesterday, described what he called "Buhari's assault on Atiku campaign", as the last kicks of a dying horse.

"If the proper thing is not done, we will eventually get hold of them; take away what they have stolen and get them imprisoned".

Buhari said he looked forward to the people's support to be re-elected. Yemi Osinbajo, National Leader of APC, Chief Bola Tinubu, Chief Bisi Akande, APC Lagos Governorship Candidate, Mr Babajide Sanwo-olu, Gov. Atiku Bagudu, Gov. Abiola Ajimobi, Gov. Kayode Fayemi of Kebbi, Oyo and Ekiti states, respectively.

"Is it not unusual therefore that President Buhari who wants Nigerians to perceive his administration as fighting corruption, will cast a net into the ocean and bring out only corrupt people to run his campaign?"

He asked the people of the state not to vote for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), alleging that its presidential candidate has promised to enrich his friends at the expense of his masses.

"From reports reaching us, it is not also out of place for the Buhari Presidency and the APC to use this measure to test the will of Nigerians as precursor to their rigging plots".

Oshiomhole's comment is coming weeks after President Muhammadu Buhari was severely criticised for boycotting the presidential debate for the 2019 poll.

President Muhammadu Buhari, on Saturday, maintained that the duty of his administration was to imprison those who had looted the nation's treasury.

He said, "The Igbo nation should learn to collaborate with other zones to achieve their aim of producing Nigerian President in 2023".
