Jack Clarke: Leeds United teenager taken to hospital after Middlesbrough draw

'He has had messages from football fans from every club you can imagine and we all really appreciate it. Jack will undergo some more tests and everything is looking well, but he won't train for the rest of the week.

Once there his condition improved and he was fully conscious, responsive and breathing normally when he was taken to hospital for further assessment, accompanied by members of the Leeds medical team.

In a statement issued just after the match, Leeds United said: "Jack Clarke began to feel unwell during the second half of our Sky Bet Championship fixture with Middlesbrough and received medical attention". He was swiftly given oxygen and after a lengthy and concerning spell of treatment was taken on a stretcher to the dressing room.

'He was taken to the hospital to see if everything was alright'.

The second-half incident at the Riverside Stadium caused a significant delay to play. A game marred by an illness suffered from youngster Jack Clarke saw Kalvin Phillips score late into injury time to earn a potentially crucial point on Teesside.

'Jack has left the hospital now and is happy and smiling.

That win puts Leeds top of the Championship by just a point, but Norwich can overtake them by avoiding defeat in the "Old Farm derby" tomorrow afternoon against Ipswich. Hopefully, they can continue to channel some of that spirit until the end of the season and get back to the top-flight.
