Joy Villa dresses as Trump's border wall at 2019 Grammys

Joy Villa dresses as Trump's border wall at 2019 Grammys

"I grew up in theater, so I've always used costume as a way to express myself", Villa told THR.

"I'm part-Latina, I'm black", she added, saying the dress was her way of making a statement to her progressive peers who were at the event.

Villa, 27, dressed as a barbed wire border wall on her way into the Grammys with a silver dress and crown with a red Make America Great Again purse. Her outfits for the last two years have sent political messages as well. 'Sit down you don't matter!' They insisted.

The singer, who wore a "Choose Life" gown to last year's show, with a rainbow painting of a fetus on it, walked the red carpet Sunday in a "Build the Wall" dress. I don't listen to haters.

"It's nothing new. But I believe he's the one that's going to get it done", she said of the current president.

"One in three women who are trying to come to this country illegally are sexually assaulted", Villa continued. It's a humanitarian crisis.

"I support what the President says about building the wall, so that's what this dress represents". Ricky Rebel strode the red carpet in a blue jacket emblazoned with the words "Keep America Great" and "Trump 2020" over a white blouse, pants, and high-heeled knee-high boots.

In many respects, his love of all-things Trump clashes directly with Rebel's view on sexuality.

Rebel posted a video to YouTube on Grammys night to explain the fashion statement designed by Filipino-American designer, Andre Soriano (Soriano designed Villa's 2017 MAGA gown).
