Sassuolo vs. Juventus - Football Match Report

Massimiliano Allegri was full of praise for his Juventus side after they dispatched Sassuolo 3-0 on Sunday evening and commended a number of players after the victory.

Juventus moved 11 points clear of second-placed Napoli as it continues its march to a record-extending eighth successive Serie A title.

Juventus have had a couple of shaky games in the last few weeks, which include a 3-0 loss to Atalanta in the Coppa Italia.

"We need to continue in this vein right until the end as good performances in Serie A will give us confidence for the Champions League". Dybala is playing the same role as he did last year and the year before.

Sassuolo goalkeeper Andrea Consigli's sloppy clearance was punished after 23 minutes when Ronaldo pounced on the loose ball and fired a powerful shot at goal which was parried, only for Sami Khedira to knock in the rebound.

Ronaldo had a goal ruled out for offside shortly after halftime but he did get on the scoresheet in the 70th when he headed in a corner. After some delightful interplay with Paulo Dybala, Ronaldo picked out substitute Emre Can who scored with his first touch. With this win, the side extended their lead at the top of the table by 11 points as Napoli drew against Fiorentina.

Juventus next take on Frosinone in the league on February 15th before a highly-anticipated meeting in the Champions League with Atletico Madrid, the first leg being played at the Wanda Metropolitano, allowing Ronny to return to the Spanish capital just months after leaving.

However, AC Milan reclaimed fourth spot with a 3-0 win over Cagliari as January signing Krzysztof Piatek became the first player to score four goals in his first four games for Milan since Mario Balotelli in 2013.

It was against the run of play when Khedira opened the scoring after 23 minutes. 10 did feature in the Serie A clash but just for the final seven minutes of the action as post match, once again the coach tried to play down the matter.

Earlier, Atalanta, briefly moved into the Champions League places with a 2-1 win over SPAL - the in-form Duvan Zapata netting their victor with his 18th goal in 12 games.
