Boxing fans unimpressed at news of Anthony Joshua's next fight

Joshua is coming off a destructive seventh-round knockout of mandatory challenger and longtime contender Alexander Povetkin before some 80,000 at Wembley Stadium on September 22 in a fight that launched the DAZN service in the United States.

DAZN subscribers can view Joshua-Miller, the Alvarez-Daniel Jacobs middleweight title fight May 4 and numerous other boxing events for $9.99 per month.

"I will be fighting at the legendary Madison Square Garden".

"June 1 I am heading to The Big Apple and I plan to embrace the culture and leave with an appetite for more".

Joshua failed to secure a unification fight and then a rematch with Dillian Whyte, and Matchroom promoter Hearn explain his heavyweight was left with Miller. "He wants to announce himself on the American stage but all he's doing is delivering me those belts by hand".

Joshua will put his WBO, WBA and IBF belts on the line at the iconic NY venue in what will be his first bout outside Great Britain.

A fight against either Amanda Serrano or Cecilia Braekhus would create a huge stir. "They went head-to-head for all the wrong reasons last summer [in New York] and next week they will do it again as we get ready for the big buildup for a momentous moment on June 1 at MSG".

He said: 'Myself and Wilder are the current active champions of the world.

Anthony Joshua's announcement that his next fight will be in NY against Jarrell Miller this summer has left a lot of boxing fans feeling shortchanged.

But Hearn had issues closing a deal with Whyte, and DAZN was also hoping that Joshua would fight in the it could stream his fight on a Saturday night rather than a late Saturday afternoon as it did when it kicked off its service in the US for the Povetkin fight.

"I do it to help people but I do not want praise for it, I don't want to be called a do-gooder".

'People have been saying that Anthony Joshua needs to box in America, I disagreed with that because we built in the United Kingdom was unbelievable.

Although unbeaten, Miller has yet to face an opponent the pedigree of Joshua.

"A new chapter for our brilliant World King Anthony Joshua as he looks to light up America for the first time against New York's brash, big hitting Jarrell Miller", said Adam Smith, Head of Sky Sports Boxing. "He poses a real threat to dethrone the Heavyweight king in what will undoubtedly be a major global attraction and we are eager to see what will unfold June 1 on DAZN".
