How Man United players really felt about Angel Di Maria revealed

Angel DI MARIA provided the two assists in PSG's 2-0 win against Manchester United.

The Argentine endured a frustrating campaign at Old Trafford, with the manager often playing him out of position, while an attempted burglary at his house during his stay at the club didn't help matters.

Injuries to Neymar and Edinson Cavani - both of whom feature in Thomas Tuchel's first-choice front three - rule the South American duo out.

And ahead of a big return to Old Trafford on Tuesday night, when Manchester United face off against PSG in the Round of 16 stages of the UEFA Champions League, Di Maria lifted the lid on his struggles in England, while speaking to radio station France Bleu (h/t The Sun).

Having been booed, as well as being shoved into the stands by Ashley Young and later having bottles thrown at him, it was clear to see that what United fans think of Di Maria, a then club-record signing for £59.7 million in 2014.

Di Maria, of course, made the most of it and held a seemingly injured arm as his team-mates surrounded Italian referee Daniele Orsato in a desperate attempt to force a second booking on Young.

No yellow came, but the stick kept coming.

The Paris Saint-Germain player and former teammate was seeing a ball off the sideline as Young chose to contest it with him, with no real attempt to get a foot to the ball.

The former Real Madrid man put the ball on a plate for Presnel Kimpembe to score the opener from a corner early in the second half and he really enjoyed doing so. Di Maria and van Gaal were reportedly very different characters, with the Argentine poorly suited to the Dutchman's style. "But thanks to God, I was able to come to PSG and be myself again", the former Real Madrid superstar said, as quoted by The Sun.

"It wasn't the best time of my career, or should I say I wasn't allowed to have the best time of my career". "In the end he did well". Young did so while Di Maria received medical attention.
