Jadon Sancho: Borussia Dortmund flight delayed after England winger forgets passport

Danny Rose will not be available to start Tottenham's Champions League last-16 first leg against Borussia Dortmund because of a shin injury.

England worldwide Sancho was in the news as he delayed Dortmund's departure to London on Tuesday after forgetting his passport. He has scored eight, and provided 10 assists, so far this season.

"There are many things that can happen in one game but this is two legs and a tie you must not only win tomorrow, then after in Dortmund".

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino, who hinted Sancho was on Spurs' radar when he left City, expected the youngster to make waves if he got action.

The 18-year-old realised his mistake when he arrived at the airport and needed to return home.

"We knew very well that he was capable of doing what he's doing now", Pochettino said.

"We have seen the quality that he was showing in Manchester City or in his national team".

Mauricio said: "The Champions League is different and you can not assess a team in different competitions like the Bundesliga, where they are doing a fantastic job, a fantastic season and they top of the table for the whole season".

"And no, it doesn't surprise me. His talent is there and he's a very talented player".

"Jadon is a big, big talent, with talent comes opportunities and he has them for sure", Delaney said. Over two games we were the better team against Real Madrid (four points from two group games) who were the eventual winners of the trophy.
