Russell Westbrook sets new triple-double record

He clinched the record on an assist to George for a three-pointer with 3:52min remaining in the fourth quarter for his 23rd triple-double of the season and the 127th of his career.

George scored an impressive 47 points and notched up a triple-double of his own, but the headlines will be taken by Westbrook after he set an National Basketball Association record after making his 10th consecutive triple-double.

It took Felton just six minutes to score seven points.

Both showed out and evidenced the culture that has been cultivated in this Thunder locker room. "I'm very, very blessed to be able to go out and play, and I don't take it for granted". George scored 17 points in the first quarter.

"He's the best competitor I've seen. Everybody I probably went up against - and no disrespect to other teams, they're unbelievable - Paul is the best that we probably went up against all year", Trail Blazers forward Evan Turner said. Them two (Westbrook and George) are like brothers. "Their relationship trickles down to everybody else".

"It's big man", he said on the court after the final buzzer.

What propelled the Thunder from the very outset, however, was the defense. Three minutes later with less than a minute remaining, George found Russ for a deep trey to complete his first triple-double in OKC colors.

The Trail Blazers are one step behind Oklahoma with a 33-23 record and have now lost two games in a row. "Eventually it will wear them down". "That's what we did". Great basketball, outright competitiveness, brotherhood and historic milestones. It was one of those nights that makes fans proud to be an Oklahoman, honored to be in the building, and motivated to have their guys' backs.
