Anthony Joshua to fight ‘Big Baby’ Miller on June 1

Anthony Joshua to fight ‘Big Baby’ Miller on June 1

Anthony Joshua will take to the ring for the first time since September where he beat Alexander Povetkin to retain his three heavyweight belts.

Reigning WBA Super, IBF, WBO and IBO world champion Joshua will fight Miller at Madison Square Garden and he has vowed to put on a show for boxing fans in America.

"Joshua has got very gun-shy, and if Miller can absorb his punishment early, and bring it to him late in the fight, then I wouldn't be surprised if Miller does beat him".

"I wouldn't be shocked".

However, Lewis says he expected Joshua to come up against a tougher opponent for his debut in the United States and the former undisputed heavyweight champion believes progress regarding the fight had already been made when Miller confronted Joshua at a DAZN press conference in NY last summer.

With the amount of heat this Miller fight has come in for already it can only exceed expectations at this point, which, happens a lot in boxing to be fair in a sport where underdogs can pull surprises more frequently than other sports. It's not about the titles.

Expect him to fight out of his skin accordingly.

'I'm there to take a bite out of that and I'll be competing against Jarrell Miller.

The main objective of Joshua's fight in NY is to target a new audience and to help build up interest for a possible superfight between the victor of Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury 2.

"Defended the position, won every WBC belt I was eligible to win, apart for the world title, so it's about time. Not even the champions have taken the route I've taken".

Joshua has said he is looking to unify the belts, but negotiations with Wilder broke down a year ago. "What a year that would be".

Heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua will make his US debut on June 1 at Madison Square Garden in NY, when he puts his flawless record on the line against unbeaten Jarrell Miller of Brooklyn in a matchup that will be streamed live in the USA on DAZN.
