Arsenal 3 Rennes 0 (4-3 agg): Aubameyang brace sends Gunners through

Arsenal needed a fast start and they got one, opening the scoring in the fifth minute when Maitland-Niles and Aaron Ramsey combined down the right channel to tee up Aubameyang for a simple close-range finish.

The Gunners got their second goal to put them ahead 10 minutes later, and by the second half it looked like Arsenal was going to pull off an impressive comeback after a shocking first leg saw them down 3-1.

With Arsenal now locked in a battle with Manchester United and Chelsea for the fourth and fifth places in the Premier League, the Europa League could be their only chance of qualifying for European football next year.

Arsenal have missed out on Champions League football for the last two seasons, and their poor away record remains a big concerns.

"This comeback was very hard, but I think the reaction was very good from every player", Emery told reporters.

"Playing under pressure is good, growing up under pressure - with each player playing like a team and feeling the hard moments to give us our best performance", Emery said.

"In the domestic league, like here, we have six teams playing to be in the top four".

Unai Emery has retained nine of the eleven players that featured during Arsenal's Premier League win over Manchester United. I said to the players today, I am excited about this competition.

"The Champions League is very important but the Europa League grew up a lot and now is giving every team the possibility to play in the Champions League", he said.

The report goes on to say that Under's current valuation would represent 75 per cent of Emery's summer transfer budget.

"But I think we can feel this competition like in the Premier League, to do a good way and create, with our supporters, a big atmosphere and a big feeling together to do this way in the Premier League and also here in the Europa League".
