Neymar investigated by UEFA for social media outburst

Neymar is set to be hammered with a ban by UEFA after his social media rant when Paris Saint-Germain lost to Manchester United.

The penalty was awarded by VAR after Diogo Dalot's shot struck Presnel Kimpembe on the arm, but Neymar was adamant the spot-kick should not have been given.

Marcus Rashford coolly fired the penalty into the net to send United through and PSG out of the competition as Neymar - who came to the touchline from his private box to celebrate with his team - raged about the decision.

"That is a disgrace", he wrote. How can it be a handball when it hits... "They put 4 people that know nothing about football in charge of looking at the replay for VAR".

Neymar, who did not play in the fixture due to his current foot injury, voiced his opinion on social media after the match. "Ahh. go f*ck yourselves".

In a statement, UEFA announced a disciplinary investigation "has been initiated.in connection with the comments made on social media by the Paris Saint-Germain player Neymar following the above-mentioned match".

Buffon accused the English referee of having a "dustbin in place of a heart" for awarding Real a last-gasp penalty that knocked Juve out after the Italians had clawed back a 3-0 first-leg deficit to level the tie.
