Oakland Raiders cut Jordy Nelson after paying receiver's roster bonus

Nelson received a $3.6 million roster bonus in December. With the agreement in place and the Raiders set to return to Oakland, the league can move forward with planning all 32 teams' schedules.

Although Vegas remains on the team's horizon in 2020, the new lease agreement includes an option for the team to stay in Oakland for that season in case the Raiders' new $1.84 billion stadium in Las Vegas isn't completed on time.

He finished 2018 with 63 catches for 739 yards and three touchdowns. I think as we continue to improve this football team around some of the core guys that are here, I think you can even see better and better days ahead.

The Packers drafted Nelson in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft out of Kansas State.

Nelson signed a two-year, $14.2-million deal with the Raiders last offseason following 10 seasons with the Green Bay Packers.

Meanwhile, the Raiders add another receiver after already acquiring Antonio Brown and Tyrell Williams in the past week.

Remember how Jordy Nelson told WTMJ sister station ESPN Milwaukee he plans on being an Oakland Raider again this year?

The only other quarterback employed by the Raiders is Nathan Peterman, who's signed to a reserve/future contract.
