Ryan Tannehill Traded From Miami Dolphins To The Titans

The Dolphins get a fourth-round pick in 2020 and a 2019 seventh-round pick, and the Titans get Tannehill and a 2019 sixth-round pick according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Ryan Tannehill has a new home.

The Dolphins have traded Ryan Tannehill to the Tennessee Titans, ending a seven-year marriage that leaves the team with added draft ammunition but no clear starting quarterback. The deal was made easier for Tennessee since Miami will play $5 million of the guaranteed money, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter. Miami then got involved with Teddy Bridgewater, but the former first-round pick ultimately elected to return to the Saints to backup Drew Brees on a similar deal to what Tannehill is receiving in Tennessee. The Dolphins haven't really been linked to many quarterbacks in the upcoming 2019 NFL Draft, but that's largely a result of where they're picking.

He's 42-46 as a starter with a 62.8-percent completion rate, 20,434 passing yards, 123 touchdowns and 75 interceptions.

From the Titans' end the move is probably a reaction, in part, to Marcus Mariota's constant healthy issues. Tannehill has missed 25 games over his last three seasons due to a variety of injuries including a right shoulder capsule injury that cost him five games in 2018.

SportsTrust Advisors, Tannehill's representation, say his new deal is for one year.

He was the first quarterback taken in the top round since Dan Marino.
