Bryce Harper leaves game after being hit by a pitch

Harper briefly returned to the dugout and sat down for an at-bat, before getting up and walking with a bit of a limp back to the clubhouse at Spectrum Field.

"Bryce has a right foot contusion", Kapler said after a 3-2 win over Toronto.

Phillies manager Gabe Kapler said after the game that he was "confident Bryce is going to be alright".

In the sixth inning, Harper took a 96 miles per hour fastball off the right ankle from right-hander Trent Thornton. The slugging outfielder went down to the dirt, clutched his ankle and stayed on the ground for a few moments.

Friday was only Harper's fourth spring training game of the season.

Harper, who signed a 13-year, $330 million deal with the Phillies on February 28, entered Friday's game with three walks and a pair of strikeouts in limited spring training action. He was hitless in two at-bats before exiting and is 0-for-5 in two games. "First and foremost, we probably have to get inside and meet with our medical team and discuss it".
