PlayStation Is Getting its Own Nintendo Direct with "State of Play" Livestreams

The first episode will air at 9pm this Monday, 25th March, and promises to showcase new gameplay, release dates, as well as brand new game announcements.

Sony has unveiled a new video series called State of Play that will keep fans in the loop with "updates and announcements from the world of PlayStation". The livestream will be broadcast on Twitch, YouTube, and Twitter, before being posted afterwards as a VoD on YouTube. Typically, similar Nintendo Directs and episodes of "Inside Xbox" have featured runtimes varying from 15 minutes to over an hour, so we'll have to wait for the first installment of "State of Play" to set the tone.

Days Gone seems like a shoo-in, given its status as the next big PS4 exclusive with a looming arrival on April 26.

The firm hasn't announced whether it will host PlayStation Experience event this year, or if it will or won't attend Paris Games week and gamescom 2019. The stream begins in the afternoon United States time, as outlined below. I get the impression that it'll be akin to Nintendo Direct, with the broadcast schedule largely based on when the company has enough cool new stuff to share.
