Lil Nas X Hints Beyonce Could Be On "Old Town Road" Remix

Lil Nas X Hints Beyonce Could Be On

And then this dude decides to put out a song with kinda quasi-country lyrics, about movies or some bullsh*t ... let's turn the focus away from that.

Lil Nas X found himself the center of controversy regarding his viral hit song "Old Town Road" after Billboard removed it from the Country charts. It was charting on Billboard's country music charts until Billboard took it off, suggesting that it wasn't country enough. The Atlanta rapper celebrated his 20th birthday today, April 9th, and he has much to celebrate this week.

Though Lil Nas X was already active on Twitter, it's no surprise to many that he has been especially active since his new fame. And while I think Cyrus added a lot to the track - his gravelly vocals on both the intro chorus and his verse just sound so good - I truly think this was a country song before Cyrus touched it. "Listening to other songs that's actually on that chart, it's like, wait a minute". Speaking to Billboard, acclaimed country stars Brothers Osborne spoke about Lil Nas X, giving a distinct perspective on the subject.

Listen to Old Town Road below. If it weren't for the booming bass, I don't think there would be any question of if this were a country song.

"Old Town Road", which has been dubbed "cowboy trap", is now the in the states.

Both Lil Nas X and Young Thug have teased the collaboration on their social media accounts with snippets as well as the use of emojis, though at the moment it's unknown if Billy Ray Cyrus will be included in this particular remix. We'll just have to follow Lil Nas X on his meteoric rise to find out.
