Amy Poehler’s WINE COUNTRY Looks Like a Joyous SNL Reunion

The streamer has uncorked the first trailer for Wine Country, a femme-fronted party where everyone's hammered and (nearly) everyone used to work late on Saturdays. With a script from SNL writer Emily Spivey and The Last Man on Earth writer Liz Cackowski, there should be plenty of smart comedy in this movie.

The streaming company released promo photos Thursday featuring Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph, Rachel Dratch, Ana Gasteyer, Paula Pell, Emily Spivey and Tina Fey.

Jason Schwartzman, Cherry Jones, SNL alumna Tina Fey, bottles of red and bottles of white co-star in the fermented film, which puts the blurry focus on friendship, aging and, well, drinking.

Abby gathers her and Rebecca's friends of 20 years for a getaway to Napa Valley wine country.

Poehler is producing via Paper Kite Productions, alongside Paper Pictures' Carla Hacken (Brad'S Status) and Dunshire Productions' Morgan Sackett, a veteran TV producer (Parks and Recreation, Veep, Seinfeld). As the wine keeps flowing (and flowing), real-world uncertainties and questions begin to infiltrate the feel-good moments as the women reassess their friendships. She also executive produced Hulu's Difficult People and starred in the Wet Hot American Summer series on Netflix.

Wine Country lands on Netflix on May 10 and will also play in select theaters starting May 8.
