Epic Games Has Reportedly Hired Infinity Ward Co-Founder Jason West

Now, Keighley's tweet states that Jason West has joined Epic Games to work on game development efforts at the studio.

According to The Game Awards creator Geoff Keighley, Epic has recently hired Jason West, a former co-founder of both Infinity Ward and Respawn Entertainment.

West reportedly hasn't worked in the gaming industry since roughly 2013 when he left Respawn to focus on his family.

Respawn's latest project in the in the Titanfall franchise is the hit battle royale game Apex Legends. Still, take it as unconfirmed until official word comes out of Cary, North Carolina.

It's also being seen as a big deal because many consider West to be an incredibly talented developer. However, there has been no confirmation from Epic Games regarding what kind of work West has been, and will be, doing for them.

Epic Games has just bolstered its staff with an industry great.

Jason West has provided a sizeable contribution to the first-person shooter genre. Epic has put out titles in various degrees of early access for much of the past few years, but nothing's caught on the way Fortnite has.

At Infinity Ward, West and the rest of the team created the vaunted Call of Duty series for Activision. Epic will continue to make more games in the future, but with West tagging along, who knows what'll come out next?
