In October 2015, Aranda was accused of throwing glasses in Twin Cities Grill in the mall.

Aranda also has a felony conviction for first-degree damage to property.

"Oh, my God." Pray for my son", she heard the mother yelled out. "Nobody was helping her". The 24-year-old man from the Minneapolis-St. The 24-year-old is being held at the Bloomington Police Department and is being charged with one count of attempted homicide.

The boy was taken to a hospital.

Potts said they don't believe there is a relationship between the suspect and the child's family.

A witness says a woman screamed that her child was thrown from a balcony at the Mall of America in Minnesota.

A witness told WCCO that the child's mother was screaming that someone had thrown her child from the balcony. Police officers responded to a report of a child falling over a third-floor railing, but soon learned the child had been "pushed or thrown", Potts said.

A little boy was reportedly thrown from the third floor of Mall of America on Friday morning. He said a thorough investigation will be conducted to find out the motive for the incident.

The suspect ran down to the first floor and "was located inside the mall", Potts said.

The Bloomington Police Chief did not reveal the suspects name but said he was a 24-year-old man who is now in police custody.

The boy was critically injured and is being treated at Children's Hospital in Minneapolis, Bloomington Police Chief Jeff Potts said during an afternoon news conference April 12.

Per CNN, Potts said, "The child did suffer significant injuries". A criminal complaint from July of 2015 states he was taken into custody after he was seen throwing items from the upper level of the mall to the lower level.

Potts did not say whether the child and his family are from Minnesota or visiting.
