India called Pakistan's bluff with air strikes: PM Modi

The EC had recently issued a show cause notice to DD News for showing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Main Bhi Chowkidar' programme for almost one hour after Opposition parties complained that the national broadcaster was being biased.

At the rally, the Prime Minister had promised to "stand like a wall" against "attempts of the National Conference and the PDP to continue family rule" in the state.

He said the wave in favour of the BJP was stronger this time than in 2014. In 2019 Modiji says, "We have to rid J&K of these two political families".

Omar Abdullah also tweeted a photograph of PM Modi hugging Mehbooba Mufti's father, the late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, to drive home his point. "They can bring their entire clan to the field, can abuse Modi as much as they want but they will not be able to divide this nation", Modi said. "The Grand Old Party's manifesto promises that AFSPA (Armed Forces Special Powers Act) will be removed from the state if they come to power to demoralise the security forces".

Former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda has termed the raids as an act of political revenge as Kumaraswamy refused BJP's invite to join them.

If the Congress comes to power, Moily said it will initiate probes into the functioning of the BJP government during the past five years in which the "nation was misled and kept in the dark" over several important issues like Rafale deal.

Modi vowed that India would not give up its claim to Kashmir, the country's only Muslim-dominated state, which has been divided between two countries and been the subject of two wars between the neighbours since their independence in 1947.

"Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has openly supported Narendra Modi as a pre-condition for talks on bilateral resolution of the Kashmir dispute which clearly shows that there is a tactical understanding between the BJP and the Pakistan Prime Minister", the Congress leader told PTI. He also picked on Pakistan, saying that India's cross-border strikes had exposed its "nuclear bluff".
